Alan Schulman, DVM

Dr. Alan Schulman is a board certified veterinary surgeon and has been practicing veterinary medicine in Los Angeles since 1983. To become a board-certified specialist, a doctor of veterinary medicine must successfully complete an approved internship program (which is at least an additional 1-year commitment after having completed four years in veterinary school), complete a residency program, which is typically at least three years (with intensive study in the field of veterinary surgery), pass a rigorous examination process (written, oral and practical examination), and be certified for membership in the appropriate veterinary specialty college. As a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), Dr. Schulman has consistently maintained and practiced at the highest level of surgical expertise employing the latest technology for all types of surgery. His surgical specialties lie in orthopedic, neurologic, and reconstructive surgery, but he performs a broad spectrum of thoracic, cardiovascular, and soft tissue surgery.
